Meet Our Doctors

 

Dr. Jacqueline Hoang has been practicing pediatrics for three decades. She was born in South Vietnam and has lived in Northern Virginia since the 70s. She grew up in a family of seven siblings. Dr. Hoang is married, has 2 children and 2 small fur babies. She received her undergraduate degree at the University of Virginia and Doctor of Medicine degree at the Medical College of Virginia.  She completed her Pediatric internship at the Duke University Children's Medical Center and residency at the Georgetown University Children's Medical Center. She has special professional interests in treating asthma, allergies, behavioral pediatrics and parenting issues, with emphasis in helping parents raise emotionally stable, well-adjusted children. Her personal interests include golf, photography, art, traveling, and following the U.S. WNT (soccer). She stays active with the Orange Theory Fitness community. Her philosophy in treating and caring for families is by empowering parents and children to take control of their own health and happiness.

Dr. Laurie Moore was born in Washington, D.C. and raised in Fort Washington, MD. She received her undergraduate degree from Howard University and medical degree from Wake Forest School of Medicine in Winston-Salem, NC.  She completed her residency training in general pediatrics from Howard University Hospital and Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, DC. Dr. Moore practiced in a rural setting in North Carolina for three years before joining the Children’s Hospital of Alabama where she practiced outpatient pediatrics in Birmingham, AL for 10 years. Dr. Moore has over 20 years experience of practicing pediatrics. She has special interests in treating and managing asthma, allergies, obesity, behavioral health and newborn care. She enjoys traveling, walking, playing tennis and spending time with her family. She is married, has a son and three pets. Dr. Moore is excited to establish new patient relationships and promote healthy living in children and adolescents.

Dr. Angela Uy has been practicing pediatrics for over 20 years. She is a native of the D.C. area, born and raised in Silver Spring, Md. She received both her undergraduate Bachelor of Science degree and Medical degree from The George Washington University. She subsequently completed her pediatric residency training at the Children’s Hospital of Illinois affiliated with the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria. Dr. Uy spent the first four years of her medical career serving as an U.S. Army pediatrician which took her on extended tours to Seoul, Korea and Iraq.  After her time in the army, she spent the next 10 years as a pediatrician for Kaiser Permanente in the northern Virginia area. Dr. Uy has strong interests in preventative health, nutrition, early childhood development and partnering with parents to create thriving, resilient children. She is married, has a daughter, a German shepherd dog and a canary.  She enjoys gardening, outdoor activities, cycling, yoga, traveling, arts and crafts, and reading.

Dr. Megan McDonald was born in Baltimore and grew up in Union Bridge, MD. She received an undergraduate degree in Biology with a minor in Spanish from the US Air Force Academy. She then received her medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine. She completed her pediatric residency training at the combined Wright Patterson Air Force Base-Dayton Children’s Hospital program in Dayton, OH and then served as Chief Resident of this program before working as the solo pediatrician at the Ellsworth AFB Pediatrics clinic in Rapid City, SD. While there, she also was the Chief Medical Officer for the Ellsworth AFB medical treatment facility. In 2019, she and her family moved to San Antonio, TX and she worked in the pediatrics clinic at Randolph AFB before finishing her time as a Lieutenant Colonel in the US Air Force as the Medical Director and Pediatrics instructor for the Interservice Physician Assistant Program at Ft. Sam Houston, TX. Dr. McDonald most recently lived in Las Vegas, NV and worked in a small outpatient pediatrics practice. She lives with her husband, two daughters, one son, and a rescue dog. Her pediatrics interests include preventative medicine, infectious disease, and promoting healthy lifestyles.
